Back To Work

Well... It has been a while but I have been inspired to get back to work on Dixie ( thanks to Tyler ) of http://www.nastyshasty.blogspot.com/ NastyShasty is a great new blog that I found today and shows a really well done Astrodome renovation.  Tyler has come up with some great ideas and a new layout for his Shasta. I love woodworking and really need to get back into Dixie and continue on with all the hard work I started.

I still enjoy going out and sitting in Dixie just to chill-out! It's like my fort I guess. Nadia and I stayed the night in her last weekend but never left the yard. It was fun! We had dinner in her, drank a little beer, played strip scrabble and then passed out! (sorry... No pix of that!! ;)  Campin' is AWESOME!!

I am in the process of moving her forward again. I expanded the privacy fence toward the front of my house about 20 feet and made a 10 foot wide gate in an effort to be able to get her out to the street with much more ease. I am going to move Buddy (my 19 Deluxe) behind her so now they will both be up tight to the side of my home and shaded by the home and existing trees. I'll post pix of that later. for now... Here are some pix of Tonka enjoying hanging out in Dixie!

  1. Hi there! I am the proud owner of a 63 Shasta that I absolutely love. It is in very good shape. I didn't have to gut it or anything. As I surf my way through all the vintage camper blogs, I never see one like mine!! Do you know of any that would fit this description? She has a back kitchen (straight across the back with a window). Bathroom with shower and toilet, closet cupboard, two beds that would make up the booth for the dinnette. Note.....with the original table (which I do not have) it would make one really big bed. There is a bunk above it. I think it's a 15 foot (think). I would have to talk to my hubby on that. Have you ever seen anything like this? Your campers are great...we had the nieces and their kids over to our 'campground'. They all loved it. We also have a smaller pop-up and we weekend camp in a great big honkin' 5th wheel. That isn't really camping. :-) Any help you can give me would be great!!! Thanks! Amy B amigo856@al.com

  2. Amy, I sent you an email. It sounds like you have a Shasta 16SCS. They are not too common. If this is it, I have more info on it for you. Thanks for your comments on my blog. I cannot believe how much fun it is to have these little campers!!
